You are transitioning from one account to another account in Rentals United with two properties mapped to one listing in the channel and you want to ensure that old reservations remain on the original account while all new bookings will flow to the new account. In this article we will explain what happens to existing and new reservations.
When you map two Rentals United properties (on two Rentals Unitedaccounts) to a single listing in the sales channel, then:
New reservations
-
New reservations will be directed to the most recent active connection.
-
If the new connection becomes inactive due to a fatal error, and the old connection remains active, new reservations will be directed to the most active connection (in this case, the old connection)
-
Connection activity is checked at the time of reservation processing.
To ensure that all new reservations flow to the new account, please make sure that the connection in the new account is active and with no errors.
Existing reservations
We ensure that the existing reservations are in synchronisation regarding modifications, cancellation and guest messages. These events do not check which property connection was most recent. They just track the reservation ID in Rentals United. This way, the existing reservations will be correctly modified and cancelled, as well as will receive the guest messaging.
For existing reservations, the client must implement a logic to capture changes (e.g. availability) from the original property and update them in the new property (currently connected and sold) or update these changes manually.
