Quote requests
Channel quoting Rentals United/PMS
Quoting is the stage when the channel double-checks availability and prices before reservation creation. Such a quote is by default limited to Rentals United. This means that Rentals United is the only source of truth. The channel is provided with the information available in our system at the time of reservation creation.

PULL channels - by default the quote is disabled and the channel is provided with the prices registered in the Rentals United system. There may be exceptions to this rule, depending on the channel's implementation of Rentals United API. For more information, please see Rentals United API Portal.

PUSH channels - some channels use the data available in their system while the reservation is being made, some channels perform a quote to Rentals United. See Channel Integrations for details of each channel's integration. Note, however, if the quote is performed, it is usually limited to Rentals United.

Reservation inserted through Rentals United platform or Book Direct - a quote to PMS is always performed prior to the reservation. In this case, the inserted reservation will feature data quoted from PMS.
Rentals United quoting PMS (N/A)
Another type of quote request is used before a booking is inserted to PMS. It serves to obtain additional information to obtain the final price, for example fees and taxes etc. For RNS this type of quote is not supported.
Inserting a reservation
Bookings are inserted into RNS instantly after Rentals United retrieves them from a Sales Channel.
CC details sync
Credit card details are passed to RNS if only they are provided to Rentals United.
One-time access to CVC / CVV
The CVV details are shared with the user only once (via API method, inserted in PMS or via reveal credit card details function). Then, they are immediately removed from our system and cannot be accessed again by any means. If you need to retrieve them again (e.g. due to charging purposes), contact the sales channel or the guest. It only concerns the CVC / CVV and does not relate to other credit card details (i.e. credit card number or holder's name).

Overriding rent (N/A)
Rentals United does not insert in the RNS system the actually booked prices. This way, information available in RNS will be always preserved in a reservation inserted to this PMS, regardless of the pricing information shared with the channel that made this reservation.

Modifying and cancelling a reservation
Booking modifications / cancellations retrieved from Sales Channels or made directly in Rentals United do not trigger booking updates in RNS. Once a booking modification / cancellation is registered in Rentals United, it triggers an email to the property manager. You should modify / cancel the reservation directly in RNS according to the received information to avoid discrepancies between RNS and Rentals United.
Note: Reservation not existing in Rentals United
It is possible that a booking may have been made directly in RNS, through a channel which is not connected to Rentals United or before the property manager joined Rentals United. In this case, the reservation exists in RNS, but is not registered in Rentals United. If you want to modify such a reservation, it must be updated directly in RNS. This action will cause creation of a new reservation in Rentals United. You will see that this reservation has the property manager's logo displayed next to it, which means it was created manually by you.
Important: In case a reservation’s status is “Cancelled” in Rentals United and that reservation gets re-confirmed in RNS, then such a change is ignored by Rentals United. The status change from “Cancelled” to “Confirmed” is not allowed, regardless of the source channel.
In case the reservation is modified / cancelled directly in the RNS system, then Rentals United is notified about the changes and modifies / cancels the reservation in our system according to the received data. If the modification changed availability of your property, correct information will be shared with the channels.
Note: Vrbo exception
Some channels do not allow modifications / cancellations through their website, for example Vrbo. Then, any modification / cancellation must be agreed directly between the guest and the property manager and introduced directly in RNS. After they are introduced in RNS, they will be successfully synchronized to Rentals United. If the modification changed availability of your property, correct information will be shared with the channels. Additionally, Vrbo will receive detailed modification or cancellation information.
Email notifications
The host/property manager will always get an email notifications about new reservations and any updates made to reservations. The address that the email is sent to is the email address (available at My profile). The notifications will be sent regardless of the source of the change as well as the integration type.
The email notifications are sent when:
