Updating listing in the channel serves to keep the listing in synchronization with Rentals United. While dynamic content is synchronized automatically with all the channels and no action is required from you, the static content synchronization varies across the channels and depends on how the integration works (see Static & dynamic content).
If you make updates to your property static content in Rentals United, you should ensure that the same updates will be reflected in the Sales Channel website. There are a few ways channels work:
-
content is retrieved by a channel automatically once a while (PULL channels)
-
content synchronization is triggered on-demand by a user or Rentals United Support Team member (PUSH channels)
There are two types of updates you can trigger and typically channels support both options (however, there are exceptions). Read carefully, as the update process cannot be reversed.
-
Partial update - with the partial update, you can select areas that have been edited and require updating in the channel. This is particularly useful if you keep some extra content directly in a Sales Channel (because, for example, Rentals United does not synchronize it) and you want to ensure it will not get overridden. We recommend using this option each time, if possible.
-
Full update - with the full update, you will trigger the synchronization of all data (that could be ever synchronized in the integration with this channel). All data will get overridden with what is available in Rentals United. Make sure that this is really intended.
You must have already learned that there is no common way for all channels to work. The same applies to how your listings in the channels are kept in synchronization with Rentals United. Hence, if you are looking for information on a specific channel, you should use the Channel Integrations > Sales Channel > Connecting to... > Updating listings.
